🍛🍜 EP 10. Recipe in Caption! “Kare” Udon or Curry Udon made in a tiny rice cooker! You can substitute the beef with whatever you like and also add vegetables too. Let me know how you like to spice up your curry udon! 🍛🍜 My rice cooker is a 2 cups uncooked u002F 4 cups cooked size. Ingredients 1 cup dashi (1 cup of water + 1u002F2 tsp dashi powder or make from scratch) 1 serving udon noodles 3 oz thinly sliced beef 1u002F4 small onion, thinly sliced 2 tsp soy sauce 1u002F2 tbsp mirin 1 tsp sesame oil 1-2 curry roux cubes, depends on how thick you want the broth Oil 1. Add a bit of oil to the rice cooker pot and “saute” the beef and onions. You will need to place the lid on top in order to flip the switch to cook if you have a model similar to mine. 2. Once the beef is cooked, remove and set aside. 3. Clean out the pot. Add the dashi, soy sauce, mirin, and sesame oil. Hit cook. 4. Once the soup is boiling, add the curry roux. TIP! Chopping the roux into smaller pieces and using a strainer helps dissolve the roux easier. 5. Add the udon to the curry soup alone with the sautéed beef and onions. Place the lid back on top and cook per udon instructions. 6. Adjust seasonings to taste! Enjoy!
